          The college of William and Mary or just William and Mary is a public university in Williamsburg Virginia. It was founded in the late 1600’s and is one of the oldest universities in the United States. The college of William and Mary is one of the top undergraduate universities in the US. The College of William and Mary is small with close to 8,000 total students including undergraduates and graduates. Its sports teams are called the Tribes. WM focuses on a small college learning experience with most classes having less than 40 students per class. The College of William and Mary has many famous alumni including former presidents Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler, and James Monroe as well as the Daily Show host John Stewart and a NASA astronaut David M. Brown. The college of William and Mary has many popular majors including Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Step 1

Study the average entrance GPA scores of incoming freshmen into William and Mary. Try to achieve higher grades than these scores during your high school career so that you will be higher than the average amongst other incoming students. This will help you get accepted into the university as well as increase the chance of you getting awarded scholarships to attend. The average GPA for William and Mary incoming students is close to 4.0. The admissions rate of applicants to W&M is 34% so it is a very difficult college to get into.

Step 2

Look at the average SAT scores for accepted freshmen at the College of William and Mary. Take some SAT prep tests to raise your SAT scores into the range and preferably higher if you want to get into William and Mary. The middle 50% of SAT Math scores for students is between 620 to 720 and the middle 50% of scores for Critical Reading are between 620 to 730. Also, more than 50% of incoming students scored higher than a 30 on the ACT test if taken. Close to 80% of freshmen were in the top 10% of their high school classes.


Step 3

Learn the application deadlines for the College. The early admission deadline for William and Mary is November 1st. Regular decision admission is January 1st for the application with the FAFSA information due by March 1st.
