How to Get into Texas A&M University

          Texas A&M University is one of the largest universities in the US as it enrolls close to 50,000 students. Texas A&M is located in College Station, Texas. The school opened in the late 1800’s and has had a long an illustrious career. The George Bush Presidential Library is located there. Texas A&M is home to the Aggies football team and Kyle Field Stadium which has been voted in the past as the number one football stadium in the US and has a capacity of close to 80,000 people. If you would like to be an Aggie yourself and apply to one of the largest universities in the Southwest then give Texas A&M a chance. Follow the tips below to help you get accepted into Texas A&M University.


Step 1

Entrance gpa scores for high school seniors coming into Texas A&M are between 3.00 and 4.00 with an average of 3.6. This means you need to do very well in your high school career to warrant admission into Texas A&M.

Step 2

Average SAT scores for each of the three SAT test categories are between 500 and 650 points each for the average values of those getting into Texas A&M. Take an SAT prep class or use some SAT prep books to prepare yourself for the SAT’s. You can take some practice SAT’s as early as your sophomore year in high school even to help you familiarize yourself with the types of questions that they ask on those tests.


Step 3

Join the student government or pursue a musical instrument in high school. Make yourself a well rounded student. The Texas A&M University looks favorably on students who have more on their resume than just good grades and strong SAT scores.



Step 4

Don’t forget to send in your application materials within the Texas A&M deadlines. The application deadline for fall is January 15th. And the deadline date for spring admission to Aggie University is October 15.


Step 5

Familiarize yourself with the Texas A&M entrance essay requirements so that you can prepare thoughtful essays. There are 2 required essays for freshman admission and one additional optional essay. The first 2 essays are about someone how has made an important impact on your life and why as well as writing about an issue of importance to you and how it has affected you or your community. There is a third optional but recommended entrance essay that you can write about any personal information such as hardships or challenges that have affected you in life.
