           Pancreatic cancer kills roughly 37,000 people in the US each year. It has been popularized recently with the death of actor Patrick Swayze. The pancreas a gland that is part of the body’s digestive system. Its main function is to produce pancreatic enzymes which aid in the digestion of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The pancreas also produces insulin. It is very difficult to diagnose pancreatic cancer because its symptoms usually only become apparent when it is at an advanced stage of progression.
