How to Relieve Stress Anxiety

Anxiety stress          Stress anxiety is a common problem afflicting so many individuals. Anxiety caused by stress can come from many different aspects of your life. In an era of economic depression, work pressures, and rampant divorce it is no wonder why so many people are seeking help for anxiety problems. Stress and anxiety can cause many health issues. Stress increases the body’s levels of cortisol which is the natural stress hormone. Cortisol causes the body to age prematurely and increases the inflammatory response. Luckily there are many steps that you can take to rid your body of stress and lead a healthier life.

Step 1

Yoga for stress Start a yoga program. Yoga involves a series of stretching techniques performed in sequences and coordinates your breath with movement. These actions calm the mind and soothe the body. Yoga has been shown to reduce anxiety and lower stress levels in individuals regardless of age.

Step 2

WaterEliminate sugars and soda drinks from your diet. Replace the lost drinks with additional water and pure fruit juices. Sugars increase inflammation in the body which stresses your body’s cells. Fruit juices contain natural enzymes and vitamins which will help reduce cortisol.

Step 3

Take out 15 minutes every day at work and close your eyes in your office or cubicle. Concentrate on your breathing and think of a calm soothing place. Imagine yourself sitting on a tropical beach with no one around staring at the calm blue ocean. Just zoning out like this a little bit each day will help to reduce your work stress and anxiety.

Step 4

Exercise. Start a weight training program or run a few miles each week. Do some type of strenuous physical activity for at least one hour more than three times per week. Exercise will release endorphins which are feel good hormones that can lower your stress anxiety naturally.

Step 5

Green teaDrink soothing teas such as green tea and chamomile tea. These teas have anti-inflammatory compounds such as epigallocatechin gallate which relieve stress and inflammation. Try to have one of these soothing teas every day. A good time to have the tea is when you are the most stressed during the day such as at work. You may also have the tea iced if it is the summer for example. Iced tea will have the same benefits.

Step 6

If all else fails try eliminating some of the causes of stress and anxiety in your life directly. For example if your job is causing most of your stress start looking for another job. If your stress is caused by rent that is too high, look into downsizing into a smaller, cheaper apartment.
